INTRO TO DIRECTING
This workshop is designed for those students who might be interested in directing someday, but need to explore “directing” to see if it is for them. Many theatrical concepts and topics will be covered, but the focus will be to give students the foundation of the various aspects of directing, which will allow the students to see how large an endeavor directing a play is. Participants will have first-hand experience in directing scenes within the class environment.

INSTRUCTOR: José de la Mar has been an active member of the local theatre scene for many years now. He is a professional actor working on local films, commercials and industrials. Theatrically speaking, José has performed with or directed for Do or Die Productions, Spartan Lyrical Society, Bowie Community Theatre, 2nd Star Productions, Musical Artists Theatre, Merely Players, Spotlighters … just to name a few.
