ABOUT ABOUT

Production Summer Camp :: Ages 12-18

ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED BY BEING IN A BAD MURDER MYSTERY

SYNOPSIS: Follow along (if you dare) as our misguided performers attempt to nail down devilish British accents, understand what a red herring is, & figure out how to die onstage without looking all gross and stuff. Meanwhile, the director & stage manager, who really love dealing with the egomaniacs & lunatics in the cast, wouldn't really try to murder someone during the murder mystery. Would they?! Chaos rules the day as time is running out for cast & crew to sort out this mess. Safe to say, you will never look at a whodunit the same way again as All I Really Need to Know I Learned by Being in a Bad Murder Mystery brings up the curtain on bad accents, murder and laughs.

Students will attend online classes taught in a group setting for 90-minutes a day (Monday-Friday) for the duration of the camp. They will also have daily activities to keep them busy after the online class. To add to the fun of this learning experience we also have a few "spirit days" mixed in toward the end.

Parents/Students may need to record their student and submit the videos for editing purposes so that we can compile them for an online pre-recorded performance.

Your tuition includes:

  • Direction / instruction from a highly qualified artistic team
  • Production elements (script, access to digital recording or rehearsal tracks)
  • Character Development Worksheet
  • Character Design Challenge (Students design hair & a costume on a worksheet for their character.)
  • Scene Study Worksheet
  • Show Poster Design Challenge
  • Online pre-recorded performance shared on CTA's YouTube & social media channels.
  • And more!

Through theatre production camps students gain experience and knowledge in acting, improvisation, characterization, movement, and much more. This summer camp concludes with a final pre-recorded online performance. In production camps, teamwork is a major focus and all participants are guaranteed a role. We encourage students with all levels of experience to attend.
