NON-MUSICAL PRODUCTION WORKSHOP :: TRANSYL-MANIA

Getting ready to start auditioning for colleges? Wondering what you can do to help you stand out from the other hundreds of students auditioning for the same program? Preparation is key. Come learn about what the people on the other side of the table are thinking the moment you step into the room and how you can maximize your potential to impress. Also, learn some text analysis tools that will help you unlock character and action; making any monologue stand out from the rest.

All students must bring a 30-60 second monologue or 16 bars of a song to work on. The selection must be memorized and a hard copy must also be brought. If bringing a musical selection, students must provide a digitally recorded accompaniment track.

GRADES: 10 to 12

INSTRUCTOR: Gerrad Taylor

Gerrad Alex Taylor is a DC/MD/VA based actor, director, and voice and speech coach. He received his BA in Neuroscience from The Johns Hopkins University and his MFA in Performance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He currently works at several regional theatres throughout the country, continually showcasing various spectrums of theatre as much as he can. He spends the majority of his time directing and teaching with The Children's Theatre of Annapolis (childrenstheatreofannapolis.org) as well as acting with The Chesapeake Shakespeare Company where he is member of their resident acting company (chesapeakeshakespeare.com).

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP POLICY:
All Participants must be current members of CTA ($10 for an Individual Student or $20 for 2 or more Students within the same family).  Valid from July 1st through June 30th annually.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

  • Minimum of 3 weeks prior to class: Full refund minus the membership fee.

  • 2 weeks prior to class: Refund minus $75 registration fee and membership fee.

  • First day of class or later: No refund
