AUDITION WORKSHOP FOR MUSICAL THEATRE

In this class you'll learn how to: select and prepare a song, dress for an audition, warm-up and practice cold readings. You will also work on diction, projection, behavior and attitude. Learn basic theater vocabulary and stage directions.
Students must pre-select 1 two minute monologue + 2 song selections with digital recording. No vocal recorded music or a cappella singing is allowed. Dress appropriately for movement and wear dance shoes (any style) or shoes with a thin sole and no heel (example: sneakers) NO open-toe shoes: no crocs, sandals, flip flops, etc.

INSTRUCTOR: Michelle Bruno
Michelle Bruno is a WATCH nominated director and actress. She has performed and directed in the DMV area for the last 10 years. Some of her favorite roles are as Sarah in Ragtime, Armelia in Ain't Misbehavin', Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor DreamCoat and Mama Euralie in Once on this Island. Favorite directing roles are for Communicating Doors, Inventing van Gogh, and of course, musically directing Bugsy Malone Jr. here at Children's Theater of Annapolis.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP POLICY:
All Participants must be current members of CTA ($10 for an Individual Student or $20 for 2 or more Students within the same family). Valid from July 1st through June 30th annually.

Minimum of 3 weeks prior to class: Full refund minus the membership fee.
2 weeks prior to class: Refund minus $75 registration fee and membership fee.
First day of class or later: No refund
